Contractor Resources

Take Advantage of Available Resources

The Ohio Laborers’ Apprenticeship Office has various resources available to contractors to make your business run more smoothly and efficiently. One of the most essential and valuable resources we offer is the Sponsorship Portal. The Sponsorship Portal partners with the OCA, the AGC, and the local union business managers to connect contractors to available apprentices. The purpose of the sponsorship portal process is to build workforce development efforts more efficiently and transparently.

When you sign up for the sponsorship portal, you have access to a list of apprentice applicants. Apprentice applications can be filtered by zip code, city, or a specific skill such as a CDL or asphalt work experience. Some of our applicants are 18 and right out of high school, but you will also find many that have several years working in construction and would like to be part of the laborers’ union. Before selecting one of these new candidates, you must call the local union Business Manager.

The OLTA program is equipped with six full-time recruiters who are constantly finding new apprentices and laborers so that you can focus on your business, and we can develop the workforce for you.

Sign up for the sponsorship portal here. For questions, contact Vince Irvin at the apprenticeship office at VinceI@oltc.com or (614) 865-9833.
