The steps we are taking to improve the industry.
The Ohio Laborers’ Apprenticeship Program is proud to announce the hire of our first-ever Marketing and Communication Director, Melissa Emery. Before joining OLTAP, Melissa has worked with organizations such as the American Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity to bridge communication gaps, recruit, and promote positive public relations. Melissa graduated from Mount Vernon Nazarene University with her bachelor’s in Marketing and Public Relations, and she is currently finishing her Master’s of Business Administration with a concentration in marketing. We are excited to bring her on as a partner and an industry resource to improve Ohio union construction’s marketing and communication channels. We encourage you to reach out to her through our office for consultations, questions, and ideas to improve the industry’s practices.
In addition to hiring Melissa and our recent Contractor survey, our program seeks to contract a reputable research organization for an Ohio union construction research study. We strive to improve our knowledge on best practices for Recruiting, Onboarding, Training, and Retaining the next generation. This Newsletter has included general information on Gen Z and Millennial research, but this upcoming workforce research study will focus specifically on the heavy highway, building, masonry, utility, and other union construction fields to meet their hiring and recruitment needs.
